Aromas of herb, melon, hay, honey, and just a whiff of grilled nuts. Full bodied, lovely glycerine texture. Dry, savory, and rich with cleansing acidity and a lightly oxidative note. Not about the fruit, which you feel more than taste. This really evoked Savennières for me. Not an everyday wine but full of interest and very food friendly-from asparagus to eel to pork loin. |

Interestingly, the sommelier mentioned that he had noticed quite a bit of bottle variation in bottles opened here in the U.S. with some being funky, but we found this bottle clean, complex, and full of intrigue. |

The first one I’ve actually opened and therefore my first time tasting Gringet. Verbena and elderflower. Slight effervescence and a light touch of VA, perhaps unsurprising since the wine was made by Ganevat after the original proprietor’s (the eponymous Belluard) untimely passing. Interestingly felt quite ferric (as opposed to the salty/chalky feeling from limestone), unsure if that’s anything to do with the terroir. Excellent balance of concentration with tension and persistent without losing energy. A great wine in its own right. |

Chef worked at le 1920 before and this is sophisticated food - highly recommended if you pass by megeve. Pairing with the first 2 starters - saint Jacques and a soup. Medium gold color. Nose reminds me of a savignin / vin jaune but with more fruit like sweet apples and pineapple. Med acidity, med body, med alcohol, med flavor intensity, med finish. Minerality, orange, sweet apple, pineapple, oxidative note, lingering salinity. Excellent 👌 |

Roasted apple, pineapple, orange, i smell a crêpe flambée à la grand marnier, beautiful and ample nose. Med acidity, med body, med alcohol, med flavor intensity, med finish. Real interesting mouth, there is oxidative touch to it, cream, nice chewiness, beautiful ripe apples. Excellent 👌 |
